The London Borough of Bexley is located Southeast of London City airport a distance of 14 miles that would take around 30 minutes by taxi via the A102 and A2. It is situated in South East Greater London and borders the neighbouring boroughs of Bromley, Greenwich, Havering and Dartford. It has a population of 232,000 according to 2011 statistics.

The borough has many notable beauty spots such as Lesnes Abbey in Abbey Wood, Danson Park in Welling that boasts a palladian villa and boating lake, Foots Cray meadows, Hall Place a magnificent Tudor mansion and the Redhouse that was William Morris's former home in Bexleyheath. Known as 'the little corner of the country in the city' it has over 100 parks and open spaces covering an area of 638 hectares and there are small gardens, rivers, woodlands, parks and ponds to choose from to relax, ramble or take part in some of the leisure activites on offer such as golf, boating and tennis.

There are many interesting Churches in the Borough that are steeped in history some were even mentioned in the Domesday book of 1086 having been used as a stopping point on the way to visit the shrine of the Archbishop of Canterbury. Some enjoyable walks to be had while staying in Bexley are The Green Chain Walk covering a total of 40 miles that will take in most of the sites of the borough, The Cray Riverway a signposted walk along the River Cray and The Shuttle Riverway that connects the Cray Riverway and Green Chain Walks.
